Arthur Barr

Arthur Barr is a leading example of a new breed of talent to emerge at the end of the last decade. Combining a burning passion for electronic music with nifty work behind the scenes he has crafted a solid niche for himself in today’s highly dynamic scene. Sitting back and letting things take their course is not part of his mantra.

From seedy beginnings swigging vodka and providing beats at Ibizan strip joints while just nineteen to skilful A&R work building his Fullbarr imprint.

And he has been doing just that with an admirably DIY approach since 2010, fusing the depths of dub, the power of techno and the mood of house into mature and alluring soundscapes that take inspiration from "parties, music, artists and friends from around the globe." It’s a simple and honest mission, and one that is serving the Bradford based label well, with support coming in from both on and offline press (think RA, DJ Mag, De: Bug). Of course, more important than what some holed-up desk jockeys say, is what the all important disc jockey says…. And alas, with plays and chartings from top-dogs including Seth Troxler, Jozif, Ripperton, Kenny Larkin, Francois K and M A N I K, Ed Davenport, Perc, and many many more Fullbarr can sleep easy.

Arthur has come a long way in just three years. Based in Leeds and able to soak up the notorious partying spirit of the city has armed him with an innate knowledge of how the floor works and how to move it. Developing a hypnotic, late night style that flexes the funk of house with the drive and power of techno.

"Represents everything that’s great about deep house and techno" – IDJ Mag April 09

"If you dont know fullbarr digital yet, then your missing out on one of the finest deep labels around. Deep House? Deep techno? Who cares.. The bradford based imprintis on fire and lo-slun, dubbed out funk like this is reason why. Its your underground people... use it or lose it." 9/10 IDJ Magazine April'11

"Fullbarr seem to be pushing the scene with some varied yet interesting releases. 2011 will see this label hopefully rise to the fore, and they are definitely one to watch" - PulseRadio.net

"Good stuff again from Fullbarr. Trusted source indeed..." - M.A.N.I.K (Pokerflast/ovum)

"rad. 110 behind this. shame its not on wax. : /" - Kris Wadsworth

"fullbarr on the rise. wicked release" - Motorcitysoul (Cocooon)

Metrobox

Metrobox is a dj, producer and live act from antwerp, but not surprisingly he spends most of the time in berlin. He has released records on labels like We Play House, Mobilee, 8bit and Morse.
he started making music around 1988. Back then, classical flute was his thing. (nfta: indeed, playing flute is way cool! Think Ian Anderson, Herbie Mannie, Joe Farrell,...)

At some point along the road of lif...e he got into djing and since then he’s performed at several places around the world like SQ Club – Poznan, The Mobilee Cruise – Barcelona, and well respected clubs in Berlin, Lille, Ghent & Antwerp.

Metrobox is also collaborating with other artists like Marcin Czubala, Night Games, Social Disco Club and Red D.

Simon Hold

Simon Hold is a well respected personality and dj with – at such young age- a great history. Half of Pitch & Hold and a true remix master. He has the inspiration and creativity to make lots (and I mean lots) of quality tracks, as we could enjoy in his september sessions in 2010, where he gave away one free track each day. He’s not into one, two or three kinds of genres, but several; and most of them are represented in his well prepared sets.

Stevie's story started when his older brother bought himself a set of turntables and a mixing panel. His record collection consisted of small pieces of black gold by the big boys of Techno like Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Dj Bone, Daniel Bell, Richie Hawtin.. Records that would mark Stevie right there and then, and stick with him throughout this journey.

Then came one sad d...ay when his brother decided to sell everything, his records and his gear. Determined to never let the music inside die, he started saving for his own setup. After two years of saving and silence, Stevie P was born and ready!
He was about 15 years then, and Detroit Techno became his first love. He would practise his arts in his room as much as he could.

He soon started scattering different clubs and parties in Belgium when Minimal Techno claimed his attention. In 2005 he wanted to make his own productions and the largest part of that producing process he learned on a Roland MC303 groove box. It was only a year after that that he started his adventure on Ableton, a whole new world of sounds and sound variations lead the way.

After a while his first release came out on StirSound, a digital label from Washington DC. In 2008 they released ‘Attune’, the very first EP. A year later ‘Mon Atelier’, the second EP followed along side of ‘Undoclue’, a single release.

Stevie's latest release 'Kwickdrum EP' came out in April 2011 on the new Belgian label 'Thrill Recordings' founded by Tom Dazing & Gols.
